About

Hi Welcome to my site,

As you’ve probably guessed my name’s Michelle, this is me below…..

I shot this using a 50mm prime lens on an auto focus setting, wide open for the soft, very shallow depth of field – processed in Corel Paintshop Pro.

I’ve started this blog to document my 365 project which will hopefully help me find inspiration and become more creative with my photography . I know it’s been done over and over before but it is still a great way for beginners like myself to go past ‘snap shots’ and start taking pictures that have some impact. I’m still getting to grips with my equipment (Canon 7D) and the technical side of things so my pictures currently are not up to the standard I’d like them to be .

I am completely self taught and am having to learn about good composition and use of light which will eventually start to come a bit more naturally….. I hope. I have been using a DSLR since February 2012 and can already recognise some improvement in my works, however I am sytill finding flaws of one type or another in every picture I take.

I hope you will enjoy my images throughout the year – I shall be starting the 365 on January 1st 2013 but will also be doing other projects when I can.

I am looking for sincere and honest feedback so any comments will be gracefully received. Please try not to be too offensive….. I am only a beginner.

  1. michelle what you are doing with photography i am doing with writing. Where I have taken some classes never on college level or a committed amount of time. I love photography as well and use some with my writings, the digital age is great for pictures as you no longer have to wait for the prints to come back from the lab or take many shots to get just the right one. i look forward to seeing more of your pictures, happy shooting.

  2. Michelle, you’re doing just fine. The little portrait at the top is pretty cool. Publishing a photo every day is challenging. Don’t be timid, just keep putting them out there, whatever they are.

    • Thank you 🙂 much appreciated – I think your work is amazing – I look forward to seeing more of it!
