#3 -Herrings in Fur Coats (Russian Salad)

I made this Russian salad dish for supper tonight – the English translation is roughly “Herrings in Fur Coats”

I was taught how to make it by a wonderful Russian Korean lady – the recipe includes: herring, beetroot, white onion, potato, egg and mayonnaise – it looks reminiscent of an English trifle I always think – probably does not sound as good as it tastes though ………

It is apparently a traditional celebration dish so perhaps Americans of Russian descent may even be serving this for Independence Day ……….

as I did not have much free time tonight I’ve made my evening meal into my 365 post………..hope it’s ok 😉
